Royal Navy Recognised Sea Scouts
Prime Paddling have a close working relationship with the Admiral Lord Nelson Scout Active Support Unit and the Royal Navy Recognised Sea Scouts.
The ALNSASU have secured funding to offer the following:

Foundation Safety and Rescue courses and B1 permits for RN Sea Scout Leaders on 4nr 1 day courses across the country.

3 day intensive courses where Explorers are able to secure their FSRT and Paddlesport Instructor Awards.

Spaces on each course are limited to 2nr scouting members from each RN group.

Royal Navy and The Scout Association
We are proud to say that we have partnered with the Royal Navy who fund the Paddlesport Instructor courses under the Time on the Water badge. Through this relationship we are able to offer for free to leaders of the Scout Association spaces on 4 Paddlesport Instructor courses around England.
Applications are handled through the Scouts website with details then being passed to Prime. We are unable to view all applications and due to the high demand for free training you are not guaranteed to secure the course that you apply for.
British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue Training
The Foundation Safety and Rescue Training Course is the perfect way to learn the skills needed to be safe on the water and be able to keep other paddlers safe with you. During the course, you will learn how to rescue and deal with situations in conditions that you should expect to face when out with your young people.
This one day course and short theory session cover the requirements for your B1 permit and open up your coaching pathway.
British Canoeing Paddlesports Instructor Award
This course will give you all the necessary information to run taster and Paddle Discover sessions in a fun and safe way. A dedicated mentor will plan a tailored training programme to ensure that you make the most progress and can move on to instruct safe and exciting sessions for others. During the course you will cover multiple coaching skills with directed support guiding you through the coaching process in a controlled safe environment. This experience is vital to becoming an effective Instructor.
