Do I need any experience?

Our Rentals allow those who are new to the sport to test out their skills at their own pace. You don't need to have paddled before and our friendly staff will happily give you pointers both before and during your booking. 


Do I have to be able to swim? 

No. We take paddlers on the water even if they cannot swim - it is a good idea to let us know when you book or arrive.


Can I touch the bottom of the lake? 

At low tide, most adults can touch the bottom which is why all participants need to wear shoes when out on the water. Especially our young paddlers when they jump in!

Our Camps

What would I need to bring?

All you will need is:

  • A warm change of clothes 

  • Something to wear on the water - this could just be shorts and t-shirt, as wetsuits are optional 

  • A towel 

  • A pair of shoes to wear in the water or you can hire a pair of ours (Shoes must be worn on the water)

What will my session look like?

Upon arrival, our team will help you sign in and prepare for your rental. 


Firstly, if you haven't already, you will fill out and sign the hire waiver form. 


Once you have signed in, one of our experienced staff members will show you to your kayak and give you some top tips for getting out on the water and share some safety information to help keep you safe out on the water. 


After your rental time is up, they can help you off of the water and show you where to get next.

Our Facilities

We have a range of facilities to enhance your experience:

  • Enjoy the refreshing ambiance of our outdoor cafe - Bean on the Water - where you can enjoy a hot or cold beverage.

  • Embrace the outdoors at our picnic benches; providing a perfect setting to sit back and watch Alverstoke lake at its best.  Additionally, our outdoor field invites guests to unwind or indulge in a picnic.  Whichever you chose, you’ll be sure to create memorable moments. 

  • Also onsite are toilets, however, our changing areas are limited.
