At Prime Paddling, we offer a wide selection of paddlesports activities catered to enthusiasts of all levels. Our experienced instructors bring their passion for paddling to every class, ensuring that you have the best time and takeaway unforgettable moments. Whether you're looking for a thrilling adventure down rapids or peaceful voyages downriver, our programs are tailored to meet your paddling needs. Our goal is to help you enjoy the great outdoors while building new skills and long-lasting memories.
Meet The Team
Alex Merrifield
Director of Prime Paddling
Alex set up the company alongside Nathan, to continue his passion for providing watersports to the local community. He started out his instructing life by teaching Scouts at Gosport Scout Kayaking in 2010 and has developed a wide range of skills and qualifications ever since. Our main British Canoeing Award provider, Alex, can normally be found out on the water running a Paddlesport Instructor Award or an FSRT.
Alongside running Prime Paddling, Alex is a Full Time Primary School Teacher in a local school where he loves teaching. His main drive is to give everyone the chance to get out on the water.
Nathan Cole
Director of Prime Paddling
Nathan is a keen paddler and doesn't finish a session without getting wet! His favourite part of Prime is jumping on the water for a Taster Session where he gets to join in all the fun.
Nathan also started his paddling career at Gosport Scout Kayaking back in 2008 and has taken his love for paddling all over the country to provide sessions for Scouting, Girl Guiding, CCF, Cadets, businesses and many more paddlers.
He loves every minute of it.
About Our Staff
All of our staff, that are part our school offer, are part of the scouting movement. As scout leaders we run activities for young people on a regular basis. Why don't you experience it the scout way, get stuck in, be prepared and gain skills for life!
DBS
All of our staff hold a current DBS Enhanced and Barred Disclosures.
Insurance
We have public liability insurance of £10 Million covering our coaches for the activities that we provide.
Risk Assessments
We have detailed and comprehensive risk assessments for all our activities and venues. These can be provided on request. We can also arrange preliminary visits for staff members to visit the site and ask any questions needed.
